Kevin Baker Co-Founder

Kevin Baker, has a lifetime of experience in baseball.  Kevin played semi-pro baseball for almost a decade, in addition to over 12 years experience as a coach/personal trainer/training consultant. Kevin’s baseball career started out on the West Side of Grand Rapids, playing in several leagues under the tutelage Ted Raspberry (owner of the Negro League Champions-Kansas City Monarchs, as well as the Detroit Stars).  Kevin went on to be a stand out in the city, playing High School baseball at Grand Rapids Union High School. After multiple years of playing on various semi-pro travel circuits, Kevin joined the ranks of the Grand Rapids Sullivan’s Ball Club. The Sullivan’s played Internationally (all across Europe, Japan, and in Mexico), and were international champs for many times during Kevin’s tenure.  Kevin and the team’s owner/general manager (Bob Sullivan-former Tigers scout) built such a relationship that when he finished playing with the Sullivan’s, Kevin stayed on board with the team as a 1st base coach and hitting instructor. Upon deciding to leave the Sullivan organization (allowing Kevin to stay in the country during the summer, to watch his kids grow), Kevin ended up back at his old High School, starting off merely assisting-for the love of the game, and later becoming the Head Coach for 3 seasons. Kevin then spent 2 years has the head coach at Lansing Sexton. Kevin had begun giving private lessons during the off season when he was in Grand Rapids, but once in the Lansing area, he took on both hitting and defensive instruction year round.  Kevin quickly became a part of the BAMM team, where he gave lessons for 4 years. At the conclusion of his time with BAMM, Kevin took it upon himself to create his very own training service, Performance Training Sports. Through “Performance”, Kevin has been able to assist various teams with everything fromtraining to actual set up and implementation.  Training independently has allowed Kevin to train just about anywhere his clients may request, allowing him to expand his clientele base.

      Terry Heyboer
      Pitching Instructor
      Softball

I have 16 years of softball coaching in many different positions, from little league to High School Varsity.  I have been giving pitching lessons for the last 6-7 years. I have two daughters that played college ball at Calvin College in Grand Rapids and Trinity Christian in Chicago. Both spent most of there time on the mound. Pitching coaches that my girls went to are Bill Vanhorn, Ray Sheller
Aquinas College, Jim Primas Calvin College, and also Doug Finch Jenny Finch’s dad. I now teach more of the west coast pitching. I feel it creates more speed and is easier on the girl’s arms.
